DANIEL MAYER ARCHIVE
EAST DECK MOTEL, MONTAUK, 1983
Glycee print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Papier
Print size 30x40cm

Daniel Mayer: "Visiting the East Deck Motel on Montauk that summer led to a series of images that showed the motel as an aging place of rest that I visited. It was jarring for me to see how the scenery corresponded with my feelings about a past relationship, which still existed for me, but had lost its luster in reality."
The artwork comes with the handwritten story.
The project Daniel Mayer Archive addresses collective memory as well as the subject of iconographic images and the intersection of both the photographer Daniel Mayer made during his time as an editorial photographer, exploring social documentary, portraiture and still life.
