Vanessa A. Opoku is a visual artist from Berlin, working with history, technology, and marginalized narratives.
In her artistic practice, she reflects on how we are changing the perception of our world, of reality, and of all things living in it, by forming alliances between art, science, and technology.

Parables of Deep Sea is a homage to feminist sci-fi writer Octavia E. Butler and her book “Parables of the Sower”.
Parable of the Sower was published in 1993. The novel is set in a dystopian future in which society has collapsed due to a combination of climate change, economic instability, and rampant social inequality.
The novel explores themes of race, gender, class, religion, and the human capacity for both destruction and creation. It is a powerful and thought-provoking work that remains relevant today, as we face many of the same challenges that Butler imagined in her dystopian vision of the future.

Parables of Deep Sea ist eine Hommage an die feministische Science-Fiction-Autorin Octavia E. Butler und ihr Buch "Parables of the Sower".
Parable of the Sower wurde 1993 veröffentlicht. Der Roman spielt in einer dystopischen Zukunft, in der die Gesellschaft aufgrund einer Kombination aus Klimawandel, wirtschaftlicher Instabilität und zügelloser sozialer Ungleichheit zusammengebrochen ist.
Der Roman befasst sich mit Themen wie Race, Geschlecht, Klasse, Religion und der menschlichen Fähigkeit, sowohl zu zerstören als auch zu erschaffen. Es ist ein kraftvolles und zum Nachdenken anregendes Werk, das auch heute noch relevant ist, da wir mit vielen der gleichen Herausforderungen konfrontiert sind, die sich Butler in ihrer dystopischen Zukunftsvision vorgestellt hat.

Inspired by feminist science fiction writer Marge Piercy and her 1976 published novel “Women on the Edge of Time”.
In the novel, the main character Consuelo moves back and forth between her present-day reality and the future world of Mattapoisett. She begins to question the assumptions and values of her own society, particularly with regards to gender roles and relations. She becomes a key figure in the struggle to create a better future for all, and her experiences challenge the reader to rethink the possibilities for human society.
This Place Bottoms Me follows a mystical structure, ever evolving into new shapes. Through a gutter that functions as a portal, the structure dives deep into the underlying layers of a point cloud.
